Free!

Free! This is the first word that came into my mind when I think of taking someone for granted.

Recently, I just realize that when I spent too much time to a person, I take them for granted.

And I also feel that some people take me for granted as well...

It is an idiom that we usually use when we don't show that we are grateful to someone for helping us or that we are happy they are with us, often because they have helped us or been with us so often.  - McGraw-Hill Dictionary

I was wondering why we have this kind of attitude to those people whom we spent our time, effort, concern and love more than anybody else. Of course, for someone who spent most of her time on the net, I checked Google and type "Why do people take someone for granted?" Sadly, most of the result where "Never take someone for granted".

So, I asked myself then, why do I take them for granted?

Is it because I know that they will never leave me?
Is it because I know that they will always be available for me?
Is it because I know they will always forgive me?
Is it because I was thinking, they already know that they are important to me?
Or simply because, I got tired of them?

Probably all of the questions mentioned are right.

Now, I don't want to be taken for granted either, who wants to, right?

So, first things first, we don’t want to be taken for granted, so don’t take other people for granted as well...
I mean, you know how painful it is, and even though you ignore that sometimes, eventually it will burst out - to the wrong person, to the person you took for  granted for a long time, the person who spent his/her time just to make you happy.

Second, those people whom we take for granted were the people who been there for us. Yes, our nagging/strict/so nice parents, our not so close/protective/concern friends, our loud/funny/emotional colleagues, our loving/silent/persistent boyfriend/girlfriend or our... stalker? hehe

Third, I don’t know how to explain this, but those who have seen this coca-cola commercial might understand.
Yes! It will definitely come back to you...

When we begin to appreciate or when we learn to say "Thank you" for those Free! things, even if it will be there for a second or for a lifetime, we sincerely treasure and respect that someone who has done their very best for you to be happy.
We don't even know when they will be there for you. Tomorrow might be too late for you to say "Thank you."
As for me, I will definitely make someone feel better today. Wish me luck and I wish you the same...

Ops! I almost forgot. Thank you for reading... ^_~
