It's been a while when I blogged about how much I would love to have my own senior in design. Apparently there are a lot of things happened after that. One of these is that I have enrolled in a Web Design class. The best part is, my class starts after work *dances*
So why do I wanted to learn so bad?
- I need it for my job
- I need to learn more about my field of interest as I have juniors who will be asking questions to me and I dont want to give them vague answers, since I am a self taught designer or sometimes I have to ask them some questions since I don't know how other applications work.
- I only knew Photoshop and basic in Illustrator. I wanted to gain mooore skills.
I have 5 classmates in Photoshop and 4 of us will be classmates for Web Design.
The training covers: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash and DreamWeaver plus HTML and CSS.
We are a class of interesting random individuals.
- A passionate and retired Architect, who wanted to learn more skills related to his field.
- An IT graduate and ex call center agent, who wanted to get a job related to his profession.
- A Physical Therapist graduate, who wants to do something interesting on his free time.
- A Multimedia student, who wanted to learn Photoshop for his projects.
We just finished our Photoshop module and started 2 meetings for Illustrator.
Photoshop class for me was more on getting to know the basic tools once more and being introduced to the new tools on the new versions. Our Professor gave us some tips and shortcuts here and there which came very handy at work.
I just love shortcuts on applications.
Illustrator class is really interesting for me and my classmates.
The pathfinder is a great help for logos!
Recently we've been introduced to Mesh tool and been given an assignment using this it.
I am looking forward on finishing this class, memorizing all keyboard shortcut, be more efficient on designing.
What are you doing now to be better?
Are you sharpening your saw or adding more saw?
