Marriage and its Logic

It's a very hot morning. These two students were talking and I didn't want to listen to them, but I can still hear their loud voices inside the crowded jeepney. Her friend was just nodding on her personal opinion about politics. Suddenly she said,
"You know what, my classmate told me that her husband is having an affair."
It caught my attention. So I look at her.
"...You cant control anybody even if it's your husband. Hello? She should be logical." She continued, now with a louder voice.
Her friend then,  give her goodbye. I was staring at her, expressionless.

I wanted to ask her what made her think that way? I don't think that
just because the issue of  third party is common nowadays would be an excuse to just let it pass, nor to consider it normal. Can we use logic now to accept the mistake of other people? Can we use logic now in marriage?

I was staring at her, expressionless. Marriage cant be and should never be connected to "logic". Marriage in the first place  exists because of the two person who wanted to live their lives together. Sure, you can't tell them what to do and what's not. But it's not an issue about the possession nor authority to control, its an issue that talks about - commitment.
How long would you be able to resist temptation to save your marriage, not to hurt your partner and most of all, how deep is your love for the person that you promise to be with,  forever?
I wanted to say those words. I wanted to ask her those questions. I wanted to talk to her. But oh well,

I just stare at her, she smile... I smile back. :)

  2. Nowadays some people take marriage lightly.

Divorce statistics from 2002 suggest that all first marriages have a twenty percent chance of ending in divorce after five years, 33 percent after ten years, and 43 percent after fifteen years. Divorce Lawyer Source

    It's really terrible. :(
