Things to Bring Before Hospital Admission

Before my surgery, I didn't think too much on what things that I need to bring with me on the hospital.

If you are about to get admitted or a family member is about to, I suggest the following:

  • Comfy Pillow - Bring your as many comfy pillow at the hospital, these will be one of the things you'll miss at home especially if you will stay at the ward station rather on a private room.
  • Muscle Shirt for Boys / Sleeveless for Girls - You'll get a dextrose and a muscle shirt or sleeveless will greatly help to minimize the time on changing clothes. Especially when the patient will be having an operation.
  • Face Towel / Facial Wipes, Tissue and Small Mirror - If the patient wont be able to move around, you need to bring these for him/her to clean his/her face every now and then.
  • Mouth Wash - If you will be having a surgery on head area, mouth wash will be temporarily helpful when you can't brush your teeth.
  • Soap, Shampoo, Toothbrush and Toothpaste - When the patient will be able to walk around and won't need anyone's assistance, taking a bath is one of the things that he'll/she'll surely miss.
  • Folding Bed - If you'll have a private room, there might be some place to put extra bed for someone who will attend the patient.
  • Books / Laptop with a lot of Movies - Days and nights are very long on hospitals. Any form of entertainment will help this to kill the boredom.
  • Bible - This is the most important thing to bring. When you can't turn to anyone for assurance, God will be there for us.

Hope this list will help you to get ready for your admission. Do not forget to pray and stay faithful.
